Hi,

Its God's provision that till now the Church has survived without any strong church Leader though shepherd by an elder and women guilds.

It is November 3rd, 2011 and the Christ Mass Approaching fast, Mind in its Jovial mood but things are to be sorted out and be free from the Exam and Assignment along with completion of the Thesis I am pursuing at present. Hope the Out come would be better and for the upliftment of the Community I belong to and for the glory to the Lord I serve.

History of the Church

Hebron Moriah Church is situated at Gorkha Busty, D.B. Road Rangbull, Darjeeling, India. It was established on 2nd February 2002 with three families consisting of 20 members under the spiritual mentor-ship of Rev. D.L Paul Simick. There were two old couple who were well in advance age of 88 and 94 respectively. There was no building as such to call a church but a tiny room of tin sheets without any furniture.

By the grace of God the Church has expanded and members are being added day by day. In 2007 a small church building was constructed for the Glory of God. Till now the God has blessed with many more new believers and young mind to shoulder the burden for the evangelism.

The church is surrounded by many nonbelievers, viz, Hindus, Buddhists, Animistic and others. There is a big challenge to reach to these people at present. The majority of the masses being Gorkha, the church has challenges to reach to them and at the same time to be a light in the darkness. The people are not well educated, the general masses have the age old traditional ethos and customs. Christianity is still considered as a religions of the West. Though the persecution is not so severe but in many subtle ways local Christians are victimized and manipulated and debarred from many privileges.

The church is not well off financially, theologically and spiritually being a first generation Christians. We humbly ask your prayer support and guidance whatever it could be. Through post and scriptural guidance etc.

The need of the hour is one Spirit filled Pastor, Youth Leader, Sunday School Teacher, Woman Leader and Counselor. The old generation needed to give replacement. Till now old couple is soldering the Church as Elder, and everything but the Church needs Younger generation to solder the responsibility to enhance the gospel evangelism reaching to many unreached.
